I captured some footage of my experience in Hop Lane during the intense weather system that moved through last week. The rain and storms continued into the night, but I was able to take a few shots without drowning my gear. Phew!

The summer storms and rain continued throughout the night after an intense weather system moved through last week. The rain was so heavy at times that the umbrellas offered little protection.

The chances of a storm arriving at sunset is predictable in the tropics, but not so much here. As the line of thunderstorms moved into the area, the wind gusts created a sandblasting effect, so I didn`t expect much. But as the sun made it to the horizon, the density of the downburst between Burrumbeet and Wendouree divided the remnants of the sunset, creating two ominous glows, one on either side of the jetty.

Around 5:30pm, the thunderheads billowing to the east and the cloud to the west were an ominous sign of things to come.
Then, a few hours later, another line moved through from the west on sunset producing a glow on either side of the jetty.
